I feel like a lot of people on DA seem to think of sexual orientation as less of something that affects people's lives, and more of something that they see as 'hot sexy action' in their favorite fanfics and fanart. I see so many people who say they love yaoi but yuri is just gross, or visa versa, and never even seem to consider that lgbt etc people have real feelings and lives, and exist in the real world as something other than... porn, or cute big eyed boys that look like girls. It seems like people - when viewing same sex couples through this ^ point of view seem to take one character and place them into the role of a typical male, and the other into the place of a typical female, regardless of their gender, and that homosexual couples do not always (or even generally) have the same basic relationship dynamic that many heterosexual couples share. Being in a couple with a member of the same sex does not mean that you automatically take on the role of a member of the opposite sex - if you're acting as the "seme". And really I don't think "seme" and "uke" should be terms used so often. They're really kind of just clichés.
I also feel like spirit day shouldn't even have to exist, and in my world, theres no cause for it - I go to a very small incredibly supportive school. But bullying does exist elsewhere, and its terrible and painful, and also incredibly ridiculous - if it wasn't something that actually occurred, and hurt people, it would be almost laughable in how strange and unreasonable the notion of hating people for the people they love is. Hating a generalization of people for really any reason is foolish, and makes bullying seem, to me, a display of ignorance and stupidity. There is really no reason I can come up with for why people hate - other than ignorance. If love exists, who cares what form it comes in.

Returning to my original point - I wanted to draw them in a semirealistic style, so that some personality could be shown, and they would not look like some idealized unreal thing - but like real people.

I'm tired and have had a busy week, and I'm just sort of brainspewing right now, so if anyone wants to try and convince me that one (or more) of my ideas is completely incorrect (or offensive!) feel free. In the meantime, I'll go sleep.

I'm kind of in a perpetual state of super business :C Also, it was for the spirit day even, so its supposed to have a theme of purple! I might use it in a redo meme a few years from now, and color it, or something
