Contest Entry: Forest Mermaid

OMIGAWSH ITS DONE

asdfghjkl I worked so hard on this D: (5 days I think)
I'm not at all satisfied, but I'll let it be as this was my first time using gimp
Its a forest mermaid more swampish but eh x]
The flower is supposed to be dying, interpret it as you wish :]
Same with the little lights (Though if you know Clannad it might help x] )

She could also go under the theme of sadness or even either light or darkness but I'm gunna say mainly forest :]

I tried a bunch of different borders, but none seemed to fit right, so I ended up leaving her borderless.
If you have an idea for a border or any critique it would be greatly appreciated!! x]
